If You Could Change The World

Us is an ambitious documentary feature asking a timeless question in a timely way: What kind of world do we want to create—together? Filmed across continents and cultures, Us invites people from every walk of life to share their vision for the future, then weaves those voices into a cinematic portrait of our shared humanity.

“Ever wondered if the person next to you cares about the same things you do? Or are you sure they don’t?” Asks Exeter based film producer–producer Dan Wiseman. “From the neighbour with a different election poster, to the CEO whose company owns the doorway a homeless girl sleeps in, to the person opposite you on the train—we’re asking the big questions to see what, underneath the surface, we actually share.”

At the heart of Us is a single, repeatable interview framework—five questions posed to everyone—designed to reveal common threads as well as meaningful differences across faiths, so-called social strata, political beliefs, neuro-types, sexual orientation, and geography. The result is a visual census of collective human aspiration, captured with sensitivity, curiosity, and cinematic craft.

Why This Film Matters

We’re living through an era shaped by accelerating technology and AI, environmental pressure, paradigm-shifting science, and new openness about the nature of existence. In this context, Us offers more than observation; it’s an activation of dialogue—a catalyst for classrooms, boardrooms, places of worship, community centres, and online platforms to listen, reflect, and collaborate. By showcasing what we each desire for our lives and our planet, Us aims to reduce polarisation, surface practical common ground, and inspire cooperative action.
